Directions

Location Map
Bus:From NY City, take the MegaBus for only $1! For info go to www.megabus.com MegaBus lets you off at the corner of 6th Street and Market Street. From there, walk down Market Street towards 2nd Street, and we're just after 3rd Street. Turn right on Bank Street. From all other cities, MegaBus will only let you off at 30th Street Station. Follow the directions from Amtrak Train Station. The various Chinatown bus companies are located right around the corner from the Greyhound bus terminal. Go to www.buszoo.com for tickets between NY and Philadelphia, and between Washington and Philadalphia. From Greyhound Bus Station Walk on Market Street towards 2nd Street (approximately 15 minutes walking distance to the hostel). Bank Street is a very small street (like an alley because its one of the city's oldest streets) between 2nd and 3rd Streets, on the right hand side. For more information, please visit our website at www.applehostels.com
Metro:We're just a 2 minute walk from the 2nd Street subway station. SEPTA: www.septa.org
Parking:There are many parking lots close to the hostel, but we recommend that our guests use the Ritz parking garage on 2nd Street between Chestnut and Walnut. Cost is $18 for 24 hours.
Location:We're located in the Old City in downtown Philadelphia, less than 3 blocks from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, and just around the corner from Philadelphia's best pubs, nightclubs and restaurants. For more information, please visit www.applehostels.com
Rail:From the Amtrak Train Station Take the blue-line subway from the train station. Get off on Second Street. Bank Street is a very small street (like an alley because it's one of the city's oldest streets) between 2nd and 3rd Street, so if you're walking up from 2nd Street towards 3rd Street, Bank Street will be on the left hand side. For more information, please visit our website at www.applehostels.com
Airport:From Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) Take the R1 train (follow the signs). Get off at the Market East Station. Once you exit the train, exit the platform towards 10th Street. I stay there only for one night so I can not tell more about it. What I can see are pretty clean facility and good security with very friendly staff.Just a tiny problem though. For late check in, the location is a little scary since it is in an alley. I checked in at 11pm and my friend thought we were lost, although we were not.

A great little hostel in the historic old city district of Philadelphia. It was smaller than I thought it would be, but it was a great little hostel. I enjoyed my stay there, and if I am ever back in Philadelphia I will stay again.

I had some hairs, which where definitely not mine, on my bed right when I got my bedcovers. But besides that it was a perfect stay and I would always recommend the hostel and book it again while I am in Philadelphia.

Hostel response:
Hi Lisa,

I'm sorry if our housekeepers missed some hairs on your bed, they're normally good at spotting that. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay though! ~Marc

I would not stay at this location again.

Hostel response:
Hi Rick,

I sent you an email when I read your review on this website, but I haven't heard back from you yet. I'd like to know if perhaps you were thinking of a different hostel when you wrote your comment. Or, if it's not a mistake and you didn't enjoy your stay, I'd like to know what went wrong so that we can fix it and do our best so that no one else has the same issue. I'm very sorry if you didn't enjoy your stay! ~Marc

My first experience staying in a hostel, so I can't compare it with others, but I enjoyed my experience, liked everything except the bed. The mattress was low quality or too thin, just not comfortable, and I had trouble getting to sleep the first night because of it.

Hostel response:
Hi Terry,

I contacted you directly as soon as I read your comment here. Thanks again for letting me know of the problem with your mattress and letting me know which bed it was. You also explained to me that since it was your first visit to our hostel (in fact, any hostel) that you assumed that all the mattresses are like that. Well at our hostel we have "real" mattresses, the same as you find in your home. And as you know, mattresses eventually go bad and need to be changed. It's obvious that yours was going bad so we've replaced it thanks to your help. If you or anyone visiting our hostel encounters a bad mattress please let our staff know and we will replace your mattress. I hope we see you again! ~Marc
