The Martha's Vineyard Hostel is the first purpose built hostel in the USA. It has a large, fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals, dining area and two common rooms. Private and coed dormitory rooms are available. Breakfast, wifi access and parking are free. All bed linens and a bath towel are included in the overnight rate. The hostel is a great place for groups and offers several activity packages. There is a spacious yard for outdoor dining or a great game of sand volleyball.
The Vineyard Hostel is centrally located between the Aquinnah Clay Cliffs, Menemsha Fishing Village and Oak Bluffs' "Ginger Bread" Cottages. There is bus stop across the street from the hostel and a bike path runs behind it. Martha's Vineyard is an island with a rich history of relaxation and outdoor activities ranging from beautiful public beaches, bicycle paths and art galleries to chartered fishing trips, kayak adventures and farm visits.
HI-Martha's Vineyard won Hostelling International's Friendliest hostel worldwide of 2011 and Most Efficient in 2010. Hostelling International is a non-profit, membership based organization. Non-members may purchase a daily membership for $3 or an annual membership at the hostel. All guests must present a government issued photo ID (Passport, Driver's License, Identity Card) at check in and be 18 years or older, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please note that the maximum stay policy is 7 nights per calendar year.

| felt very welcome, was a great place to stay. pretty busy since they had several dozen boy scouts staying there that night, but things quieted down at a reasonable hour. pillows were a little flat, but they found me an extra and that helped a lot. Simple but comfortable. | ||

| This was one of my Favourite stays on my travels around the world.The Hostel staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for me. Because of them helping me out on my forwarding travels i am so happy to find yet another good hostel in eastern America. I would most certainly wan't to stay at this Hostel again and will be recomending it to all i know who may wan't to travel in the area.

| The staff at this hostel were extraordinarily friendly, especially Donnie and Mike. The location was fabulous for cycling around the island. The facility was very clean, comfortable and quiet.
