It was an absolute pleasure to stay at this hostel. The location is amazing. The dorms were so clean and convenient, and I loved that we had a bathroom in ever dorm. The only recommendation I have is to add more power outlets in the rooms :)

The staff were friendly but not particularly helpful from a tourist perspective. Poor knowledge of local transport and attractions.

Hostel response:
Aloha,
We've hired 3 new staff that are new residents here, so perhaps this is why you got that impression. We have so much info. in various folders & we're always happy to look stuff up on google and the various bus websites. Mahalo!

Some staff were decently friendly, but a few were downright rude or completely disinterested in helping the travellers. The lounge area consists of 2 small, run down couches and an old TV which people were commenting was pretty bad for an HI hostel, however the kitchen area was nice. Great location (close to Waikiki Beach and all amenities) however you cannot escape the noise (even at 5 am)as windows don't close completely (to allow air flow). Good hostel if you're just looking for a place to sleep in the hub of Waikiki area, and plan on being out on an adventure most of the day.

Hostel response:
sorry to hear you had a bad experience. We'll continue to do our best to be efficient, quick, and enthusiastic.

Even though I had booked several weeks in advance for 2 nights I had to switch rooms each night. The staff were not friendly or accommodating - I was told by one staff that there was room for me to stay longer and when I returned to the desk to book the room there was another staff there who said they were full!

Hostel response:
Aloha,
Sorry to hear about these stressful mix-ups due to our staff's miscommunication. You got upgraded to a semi-private room on your first night (only 2 people in there) & on your 2nd night we had to move you to a 6 bed dorm b/c the room you were in was used as a private. While most people appreciate the upgrade, others view it as an inconvenience to switch rooms.

Excellent location in the heart of Wakiki Beach. Easy to get to with the bus from the airport. Good kitchen and security.
