HI Friendly Crossways is the second longest continually operating hostel in the US. Just 30 miles northwest of Boston and easily accessible by train This country hostel is only 20 minutes from Thoreau's Walden Pond, national historical parks in Lowell and Concord, and the Fruitlands Museums. The surrounding area is great for hiking, canoeing, biking, and skiing. Fascinating day trips can be made to Salem, Plymouth, Sturbridge , and Boston for history, maritime museums, witches, whale watching and more.

Parking:	At or near hostel
Location:	From Rt. 2 take exit 39 (Littleton/Taylor St.), and turn left onto Taylor St. Turn left onto Whitcomb Ave., then go 2.2 miles to hostel (Whitcomb Ave. turns into Littleton County Rd. after 1.5 miles). From I-495: take Exit 29B onto Rt. 2 West, immediately get off Rt. 2 at Exit 39. Follow directions above.
Rail:	From N. Station take Fitchburg train to Littleton/495 stop. From S. Station: take Redline Subway to Porter Square, then take commuter train to Littleton/495 stop. 24-hour advance notice required for free pick-up from train stop.
