The Contemporary American Theatre Festival and live music clubs are in nearby Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Both Amtrak (daily) and the MARC (workdays-only) provide train service to and from Washington DC's Union Station.

Our front desk is open for check ins from 4pm to 10pm with a night time curfew of 11:00pm. Quiet hours in the hostel are from 11pm to 8am, though you may utilize our common area as late as you like so long as you respect the quiet hours of other guests sleeping. Our front desk opens for check outs from 7am to 10am, with extended hours on the weekends. There is a day time lock out between 10am and 4pm, no lock out on Fridays and Saturdays starting.
We have a full guest use kitchen, large common and dining area with a stone fireplace and plenty of free books for reading, and an outdoor deck and front porch for relaxing outside. We also offer space for camping and have a fire pit that campers and hostellers can use. For campers we have a port a potty and potable water available on teh outside of the building. We also have grills for cooking outdoors and lots of games such as Frisbee and volleyball.

| Rail: | Harpers Ferry, WV AMTRAK / MARC Train Station. From the Harper's Ferry train station (MARC train) , turn left and walk to the foot bridge spanning the Potomac River. Cross the foot bridge and at the bottom of the bridge, turn right. Walk approx. 1.5+ miles until you are under the car traffic bridge (rt.340). There's a narrow, steep gravel foot path up towards the train tracks (WATCH for trains crossing!!!). Cross the tracks and then you will be on Sandy Hook Road. Turn right and a short walk up the road is the hostel. |
