Loved the old cabin/home feel, and the staff was friendly. Considering the "out-of-town" location, the price seemed a little high, but I felt very comfortable and safe within the hostel.

The girl who was working the front desk the first two days that I was there was so nice and helpful!

Very good hostel. Stayed in the newer building with mountain view. Good clean facilities.Toilets and showers a short walk down the hall. Breakfast in older chalet-style building was very good though staff not willing to let us linger over breakfast, so get there in plenty of time! Walk down to Grindelwald and back was pleasant for us; might be a problem for some. Nice play area, beautiful setting. Very expensive for a hostel, but that is true of all the Swiss hostels. Would definitely return here again. Only problem was PARKING. The hostel does not have enough parking for everyone and does not tell people this until you arrive. There is a pay car park just beyond the hostel on the left hand side and this is where we parked for our first night. The second night we were able to move our car into the hostel car park.

One of the best hostels I've stayed at in a long time. Sure there's a hill to climb and that can be a bit tiring after a day hiking, but the views worth it.

Fantastic hostel and fun to visit again after 35 years; the swing is still in the back yard! Would recommend city bus (absolutely) in getting there as hill is really quite steep with backpack/luggage. Staff here are wonderful....

Beautiful view, it's up a steep hill from the town. They give you a card that allows you to ride the bus for free when staying there. Paying for dinner is a good option in expensive Switzerland, the meals were quite good.
