| Location: | Gräfenroda is situated close to ski resort of Oberhof in the valley of the wild river Gera in the northeast of the Thüringer Wald Mountains. Gräfenroda has a long tradition in glass-blowing and it is here where the garden gnomes were invented. |
| Rail: | Dörrberg station, 800 m to the hostel or Arnstadt central station and local bus #352 to Gräfenroda (bus stop Dörrberg). |
