This Kerry hostel is an old school house and is located at the foot of the Tim Healy Pass and is near the Beara Way.
The view from the top is reminiscent of the Alps and is magnificent. The area has all the nature lover would want - lakes, sea, mountains and forests! The Healy Pass is situated between Adrigole and Lauragh and is famous for some of the most stunning scenery in Ireland.
Located on the wild and remote Beara Peninsula with rugged cliffs and wonderful sandy beaches. The Youth Hostel is ideal for exploring the Beara Way, Dursey Island by cable car and the numerous archaeological and historical interest nearby. The most spectacular approach is via Kenmare, Eyries and Cod's Head. Cyclists should arrive from Castletownbere.
This quaint two-story hostel is beautifully situated in a quiet rural valley on the South Western shore of Glanmore Lake. Once a boarding school, this charming hostel has four dormitory rooms and has self-catering facilities.

| Location: | Road/Car: From Kenmare turn right at Sound Bridge onto R571. Follow signs to Lauragh. Hostel is 4km from Lauragh. Bus: Killarney to Castletownbere (Summer: 28th June to August 30th). Alight at Lauragh which is 4km from the youth hostel. Harrington Bus Co. (027-74003) offer a special price for Hostelling International Members (upon the production of their card) and runs from Cork (6pm) from opposite the Bus Station at Parnell Place , opposite Mulligans Bar, to Ardgroom. From here, take a taxi (approximately €16.50) 13km to the Youth Hostel or walk 5km from Lauragh on the R274. Rail: Killarney 56km Ferry: Cork or Rosslare Air: Kerry or Cork Airport |
