Glückstadt was founded by the Danish King Christian IV, inspired by Italian renaissance. Today the town is famous for its salt Matjes herrings and as the home of the annual Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
The new youth hostel is located right on the waterfront of Glückstadt. All 2-bedded and family rooms have en suite shower and WC. The beautiful surroundings offer many activities like canoeing, cycling, walking and boat trips.
