| The wifi did not work in my room (48) despite the reception staff saying it 'should'. This would not have been a problem had there been plug sockets that were sized appropriately to plug in an adapter. I was unable to use my laptop (which needs to be plugged in) to access the internet but fortunately I could use my phone to do what I needed to online. Although not the staff's fault (as they were efficient and friendly) there was often a long wait at reception, even if you had just a simple query you would have to wait for a long time while people checked in. I was unable to use a secure locker on my day of departure as all had been used (approx. 8 of them). A sign warning that lockers go quickly may have been useful to advise people who really want them.
Breakfast was great; a real bonus, as was the travel card. | ||

| additional costs were incurred unexpectedly at checkin at the hostel, the breakfast foods were stale and poorly equipped and also rather early (6.30 - 9.00). Despite checkout being listed as 10.00 the cleaner came in the room at 9.15 and while we were still getting dressed and sorting our things for the day, began cleaning the room. We had not checked out and as the lockers for our possessions were outside the room we were organising ourselves on the floor in the room,as here were no other facilities, which the cleaner then began mopping. With little or no regard for our posessions. If all you want is a bed, literally, then this hostel is suitable. It does not even provide adequate bathroom facilities as there are only 2 (or each gender)toilets on each floor and upwards of 24 beds to be served by this. | ||

| the check out time is before 10 am, so it is hurry. for sharing bathrooms it is quite less than the guest on a same floor and need to go up and down is little bit uncomfortable. | ||

| Should note there are currently building works going on - didn't affect us too much but they did start drilling about 8.30am. | ||

| Very good hostel. Extra bonus for the excellent lockers in the room. It was though a little pity that the whole reception area was rebuilt during my stay. | ||

| Awesome breakfast including delicious freshly baked bread, swiss cheese and real swiss hot chocolate. Large electronically locked lockers = great security. Hostel is a bit noisy - a group of 8 year olds were continuously running up and down the stairs when I was there. Close to the station and to the lake. | ||

| The hostel is under construction, and smells like feces in the lobby. Also, the construction of the building makes sounds echo throughout the entire building, so it was always loud. I ate a meal in the hostel's cafeteria, and came down with food poisoning. I would not advise anyone to stay at the Geneva Youth Hostel. | ||
