Geilo is a mountain town that offers many summer activities like mountain walking, fishing and other outdoor activities. Geilo is one of Norway's best winter sports centres with excellent alpine and cross-country facilitie. The right place for an active holiday! The hostel is located in the Bestemor- and Gommehuset. Both these buildings have a common room with television. Bestemorhuset ("The Grandmahouse") has a sauna.
Geilo youth hostel is located 2 kilometres outside of Geilo centrum, direction Gol/Oslo, along road 7.
We have our own bus with which we can drive our guests out to Hardangervidda so that they can go cross-country skiing in the national park.
Please ask us for information, we are more than willing to share our knowledge of the area with you.

| Generally a good hostel. Friendly reception staff. Had our stereo taken off us unreasonably though. Location is quite far from the train station (about 2km) but there is a cross country ski track and a limited bus service. Taxis also but they are very expensive. Rooms were standard except the keys worked for multiple rooms so not very secure. | ||

| Mattresses at the dorms should be changed. They are way to soft and very difficult to sleep comfortably. Apart from that, very nice cabin and the staff really nice and friendly. | ||
