Set between sea, hedged farmlands and Poitou wetlands, the Vendée valley is a beautiful region you must take the time to visit, with a stop at the Fontenay-le-Comte Youth Hostel. This city is a Renaissance architectural gem. François 1er used to call it "the beautiful minds' gushing fountain"... a nickname which would entice anyone to dive in it!
