The hostel is located about 50min bus trip from Florence, but it is definitely worth the time! The view along the road is breathtaking, not to mention the hostel itself is peaceful and you can have a nice walk to nearby towns. That my favorite thing to do during my stay in mid-April, I came here after visiting Paris and Milan, what a nice break from big cities!!!!!! Strongly recommended, if I will ever go to Florence area again, I will still stay here.

One of the worst hostel experiences i had, i stayed in novemeber and at night they turned off the heat and i woke up trembling because it got so cold in our room, it is NOT in florence and the bus fare was not somthing i expected to pay for. It reminded me of a run down hospital, not cosy at all. reception leaves at night, so in our situatuon we had some girl that was really sick and puking everywhere and reception knowing what was going on just looked at me and said im leaving in 5, if anything would of happened i would have no idea how to get help. It was just a horrible experience, and familys with little kids.

Hostel response:
We are very sorry for your inconvenience. The Italian law states that in Tuscany heating may be turned on only on the first of November. You arrived that day and probably there where some technical problems with your room. These always occur the first days.Other rooms where ok.If you had contacted Modou the night guard he may have solved it or contacted me.

My boyfriend and I were originally planning to stay here for 3 nights only because the hostel in Florence was booked. However we ended up staying there for the full week because we loved it so much. The staff are amazing. Especially Sylvia. She was super helpful with everything. She was always friendly , asking us how our day was and nothing was too much trouble. Amazing service! The hostel itself is pretty simple, but clean and has everything you need. The location was the best part though. A beautiful little village in the middle of amazing wine region. It was a bus or train trip from Florence, Pisa and Siena for day trips, without paying the price of accomodation in these more tourist areas. The quieter feel was a nice break and forced you to get to know other guests at the hostel, which meant we met heaps of amazing people. For such a reasonable price we could not have asked for anything better. We will be recommending this hostel to everyone :)

This is a great hostel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the hostel is in a lovely location in a small town away from the crowds of Florence and Siena. It's also one of the few hostels I have stayed in recently where it is easy to meet and talk to the other guests. I stayed for a week and would definitely go back there.

The location can be very good or very poor depending what you expect. We were expecting hostel somewhere a little far but still near florence city center but it really locates out of the city in a little village from where it takes an hour with bus to florence. But the chianti village is awesome. The landscapes and winefields are really worth seeing. We loved that place but what we didn't love was the 150€ for taxi ride to take us there because we had missed the last bus. Do not do that. Otherwise rooms were okay and shared bathrooms as well.

The hostel itself leaves a lot to be desired---no kitchen, spotty front-desk coverage, breakfast is lacking, and must be out of the shower room by 9:45am, etc. But the host was very nice & we loved the charming, sleepy town. Great if you're looking for a break from touring major cities. In the end, this place ended up being a highlight for us.
