The Hostel has recently been completely renovated. As the Hostel is very close to the International Airport in Keflavík it is often called "the Hostel by the airport ". Njarðvík and the area around has much more to offer than easy access to the airport. A few examples of activities you can find are fishing, sea angling, whale watching, golf courses and for the ones who wish to visit museums you can among others find mariene wildlife centre and a trout and salmon museums. For birdwatchers the area offers several locations to rival the best, among them are Hafnarberg, Garðskagi, Reykjanestá og Krísuvíkurbjarg. And last but not least, only 15 min from the hostel you will find The Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland's most popular tourist attractions. Next Hostels: Reykjavík, 45 km

| Bus: | There are 5 daily buses to and from Reykjavík. The bus stop is only 10 minutes walk from FIT Hostel, 1400 ISK per person. During the summer there are also buses to and from the Blue Lagoon. |

| There was nobody at the reception of the hostel when we arrived, our bedroom key was on the bed, quite surprising at first ... so, can't rate "friendliness of staff". | ||

| The hostel is over 5 km from the airport. Calling it "by Keflavik Airport" is very misleading. The only way to get there is taxi, that costs ~2500 Korons. This particular hostel just ruins excellent impression left by other hostels in Iceland. Is not as clean, as friendly and as secure as other hostels we stayed in. We would not recommend it for the last night of your stay. | ||

| Excellent alternative to taking a late-night FlyBus upon arriving (tired) at Keflavik from North America... Nice and clean on the inside, but not very appealing on the outside. Also, we were given an expensive complete tour of Njarðvík by a taxi driver who had no idea where the hostel was despite having the address, but that's none of the hostel's staff fault ;) | ||

| The women who was responsible for the breakfast was very rude to us and kicked us out of the room with the buffet because we had no receipt that we booked breakfast. Indeed we had booked breakfast but didn't know that you were ought to get a receipt for it, the woman from the desk had forgotten it (also she needed half an hour to come to the reception so that we could check in).Later as things were resolved, the woman from the breakfast put up the chairs the very minute breakfast time was over and started to clean the floor... never seen such a less service orientation! | ||

| We stayed there two nights. During the day when we were in Reykjavik somebody went into our room and stole thinks from our luggage. Of course hostel is not responsible. Be careful. | ||
