It would help if the bathrooms were a bit bigger and gender-separated. Plus the bathroom door is so low that it's far too easy to bump your head and hurt yourself. Very friendly staff though!

To start with they booked for the wrong number of people (4 instead of 6). Secondly the rooms were too small and We couldn't breath during the night (7 people in a 4 square metres room and mixed rooms) Thirdly the lavatory was horrible: 2 toilets and two showers for 20 people with no hygenical conditions and cleanliness at all. To end with they asked us 3£ for an insistent breakfast: when We hot to the communal kitchen (at 8, not even late) there was nothing left and nobody at the reception checking people eating in there. Terrible experience and awful wake up. We'd rather have paid few pounds more to sleep in an en-suite b&b. Don't leave your money to this hostel!!!!!!

Stayed in a dorm room and my daughter had money stolen from her backpack. Definitely an issue to consider if sharing a room with strangers no matter where you stay. The shared bathroom was for males and females.

I had not expected the dorm to be mixed - not stayed in one of your hostels before, only SYHA and YHA (England) where they are single sex. Did not really matter, just surprised me.

Thanks very much. Wish I'd stayed longer and gone to Glen Affric. Really remember the friendliness of the other guest.

The room was fine - clean, comfortable and quiet. What put us off was the bathroom facilities: only 2 showers and 2 loos for the whole hostel seemed not enough. Also, there was no separation. And the kitches arrangements were two small too for a hostel of this size.

Hostel response:
There is another shower and toilet block at the other end of the hostel. If we are busy we direct guests to the other shower and toilet block.

We were in regular contact with Wendy, and despite our very late arrival after 10:30pm, she made sure we were greeted and given an orientation to the hostel. The front door was ajar when we arrived, but since its well off the beaten path, I don't think that mattered much, given the room had its own door lock. It's very clean, but basic. If you want a hot shower, take it at night or be up early.

We are not regular hostellers but room smelt musty and damp when we arrived as if not used for a while. Extra £10 per head would have got us a decent B & B with full Scottish breakfast so will do that next time.

Hostel response:
The room had campers in it the night before and when we were made aware of the situation the carpets in the room were cleaned. unfortunately the campers had lots of wet camping gear and smelly wet sleeping bags. We have a ban on sleeping bags going in our rooms but they sneaked them in. Sorry
