Most of us here at the Coffee Shack have been lucky enough to grow up on the Wild Coast, and we love sharing our special world of unique culture, breath-taking scenery, friendly smiles and non-stop fun.
You will find us idyllically nestled on the beach where the mBomvu River meets the warm, blue Southern Indian Ocean. The "Shack" is a partnership between our Tshezi Community Trust, Dan, Andre & David. Thanks to our commitment to staff, community and environment we are proudly accredited by Fair Trade in Tourism (http://www.fairtourismsa.org.za/ )
Be sure to explore and discover, wander the hills with the local kids, take a guide or let us show you around on one of our many interesting and fun day trips. Alternatively, head to the beach or find a hammock to relax in.
There are plenty of cultural experiences available, “overnight” with a family; go on a village walk; join an evening of traditional song and dance in the village where you can learn how to dance Xhosa style, tasting traditional food and beer.
Surfing is high on the agenda here, (Dave's an ex surf champ), so whether you need lessons, (World Cheapest @ R40 for 2 hours including equipment) quality equipment to rent or advice on the Wild Coasts best waves, all you have to do is ask.
We offer dorms, camping, en-suite doubles & traditional Xhosa thatched doubles. If you need some space ask for the quite rooms on the “other” side, all with sea views.
