Cairns Central YHA is set in the centre of town, opposite the shopping centre and is just a short walk from the Esplanade. This popular Cairns hostel is the perfect starting point for trips to the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree, Atherton Tablelands, Undara and Cooktown. Scuba-diving courses, whitewater rafting, bungy jumping and more can be arranged from here.
The hostel has dorm, twin, double and family rooms available, all with keyless entry, air-conditioning and many with en-suites. Facilities include a pool, two spas, a large outdoor games area, kitchen, laundry, indoor and outdoor dining area, internet cafe, TV room with large-screen TV, secure luggage storage and YHA Travel office at the hostel's reception.
Rates quoted are standard non-member rates. YHA / HI members receive 10% discount at check-in.

| I have been a hostel member for over twenty years, and this is the best hostel that i have ever stayed in worldwide. | 9 bed dorms (small) open into a courtyard. No wash basins in room and a walk along to the shower and toilet rooms. Nice poolside and pool. Vending machines for drinks and snacks. Laundry room, locker storage and travel shop. Lots of eating places, bars and shops all around the hostel area. Near to the train and bus station. Easy access from the airport with an airport shuttle costing $14 | ||

| The staff was very helpful even beyond call of duty. The hostel wasnt very full, so it was neat and clean all the time. Thank you for allowing us to wait there for our airport pick-up on the last day...it is this kind of service that keeps us coming back to YHs!! | ||

| this was a lovely clean and friendly hostel. the only bad comment is that they need more power points for the rooms as one for a room with 9 people is not enough. | ||
