Availability Calendar

Here, people come to visit the Youth Hostel courtyard as well as the church and the cloister. The hostel is indeed located within the convent buildings of Cadouin's Cistercian abbey (11th and 12th centuries). This unique outstanding architectural site is part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

Three tours are offered to discover Cadouin and its abbey: “la boucle des pèlerins”, “la balade patrimoine” or “le sentier des paysages”. La boucle des pèlerins Short 5 km walk between fields, forest and hamlet which will reveal the natural heritage of Bessède. This walk, for children and adults, has small terminals that will give you information on the toponymy, the natural resources used by the monks and the forest wood species. Le sentier des paysages This path will enable you to discover the landscape evolution, from the site selection by the monks more than 800 years ago, to the 21th century contemporary landscape. Audioguides available. Children will particularly like the monks' game. La balade patrimoine This walk of about an hour is about Cadouin’s turbulent history: from the foundation of the monastery in the 12th century to the brutal end of the pilgrimage in the 20th century. You will discover that the history of the village and residents is linked with the history of the abbey.

23rd March of 2013, public library of Le Buisson de Cadouin: 10:30-11:30 am tea and tales on the theme of the Périgourdins travellers.

28th March-1st April, Le Buisson de Cadouin: national cycling gathering.

Combine sport with the discovery of our beautiful landscapes, medieval castles and country houses!

Very nice hostel. It was my first hostel experience. Staff very helpful and courteous. This is a good place for bicyclists and backpackers and tthose with a car. But there is not much here and the village is very small. Breakfast was simple but good. Bread was delicious. A good experience. I

Stunning location in an old abbey with a view over Cadouin. It takes 35 minutes to travel to the famous Vazère - valley. Public kitchen open 24/7 in a cute courtyard baking house. Bedding normal french, good cushions. Staff very friendly, helpful and open to all requests. This is a brillant place to stay.
