A city rich in traditions, Braga is full of symbols of a history that goes back way before our grandparents' time. The Youth Hostel is near the main landmarks. Now let's see, once you've done the town, go up to Bom Jesus and take a good look at it: that's right, it keeps growing. Guimarães is not far away, and you'll appreciate the old town centre with its quaint houses. It's welcoming and it's also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Or you can always set off for some adventure in Peneda-Gerez national park. So, it's up to you, pack your bags and don't forget to bring a pair of hiking boots.

| We noticed the smell and the cold, very moldy. There was a lot of humidity and even the sheets felt very clammy. The beds were very uncomfortable. We were even scared to find bedbugs here,as there were a lot of small insects flying around.About the bathroom we had the same impression as the room:mold, humid, very cold and old.The kitchen was also bad,we could not cook at all because the pots and pans looked dirty, even though we knew they were washed. The common area with living room and computer. We spent most of our time here because it was a little bit warmer and didn’t have the smell that much.Anyway, we decided not to stay for night. | ||

| The hostel was not quite in the centre, but only a 5 minute walk. The rooms were clean, but very basic. The beds weren't very comfy, and the pillows were lumpy. That said breakfast was really big for the all inclusive price! The main downside I would say was the lack of lockers in the rooms to securely store your things. Also, when the hostel is full (it wasn't thankfully during my stay) I think that only 3 showers for the girls floor (my room alone could sleep 8) would probably not be nearly enough!
Overall, not a bad hostel, but a good one either. Decidedly 'meh'. | ||
