An impressive former shooting lodge in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Ideal base for exploring Royal Deeside, castles and distilleries. Great location for skiing and snowboarding at Glenshee and walking in the Cairngorms. Accommodation is in 2-6+ bedded rooms and facilities include internet access, laundry and kitchen, private and family rooms available.

| Opening times (daily/weekly): | The reception is open between 7.30am-10.30am and from 5.00pm-11.00pm. The hostel is accessible during the day. Arrival time is from 4pm in the winter and 3pm in the peak season. The latest check-in time is normally 10.30pm. Late arrival can be arranged on request. Check-out time is 10.30am. |

| This hostel is in a charming lodge. It's got a great location. Braemar is really out there, though. There are some maintenance issues here because of its remoteness, but they didn't affect my stay for the most part. | ||

| The upstairs shower was badly in need of renovations as the mold has peeled the costing off the wall. The room was OK & the location good, the staff not up to the usual SYHA standard | ||

| Top bunk, a bit noisy and mattress not wonderful, but ok really. Could staff remind people new to hostelling that they shouldn't put light on in dorm and start making up beds after 11pm when they've been in the hostel all evening! | ||
