Youth Hostel BLEDEC is completely renovated and has been continuing a 70-year-old tradition of youth tourism at Bled. It is situated in a peaceful part of town. A 5-minute walk brings you to the lake. The walking path takes you to the castle (within less than 10 minutes). The capacity of the youth hostel Bledec is 13 rooms with 55 beds, mostly 3,4 or 5 beds per unit, with shower and WC, TV, a restaurant, bar, common room with the internet, parking.

| This is the best YH I have ever stopped in. The family who run this hostel are really kind, and share Slovenian hospitality with the guests. The other staff who work there are also very kind and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they went out of their way to make me feel welcome, and have a relaxing Christmas and New Year break. | ||

| This hostel was beautiful and very friendly. Breakfast was good. Great location and not too hard to find as there are a lot of signs throughout the town. Wifi is dodgy and only works in the hallways. | ||

| In my experience of having stayed over 100s of youth hostels listed on Hosteling International all over the world, this is the only hostel, who mixed female and male in the same room. I thought single sex dorms is an interntaional standard. That's the reason for my choosing to stay with the ones listed on Hostelling International, even private backpackers hostel may be cheeper. In other countries, priority is to have single sex dorms and if there are some rooms available, families might get own rooms. This hostel has a different priority. I felt individuals were suffered for the convenience of families and group. If a group would like to be on their own, they should choose different accomodation or pay extra. | ||

| I really liked this hostel. The only problem I had was when I had my laundry done, they stole one on my six pairs of underpants that cost me 12 euro each. I meticulously counted every piece that I was having washed. There is no way that I miscounted. And of course no one knew what happened to the wayward pair of underpants. | ||

| A great hostel with lovely friendly staff who appreciated my efforts to speak slovenian and taught me a few phrases. Just a few minutes walk from lake Bled and the castle. Good food, plenty of meat-free choices, but vegan spread for breakfast would have made it better. | ||
