| Great location half way up Mount Ulriken with wonderful views over the city and fjord; and the lights going on below and on the hills at night. Nice breakfast, and T.V. lounge. | ||

| During the first night it was really noisy, because the ceiling is so thin you hear it every time someone above you would drop something on the floor etc. Also quite hours weren't respected, so nobody cared about a group of boys partying right above our hats until 2 in the night. (Which might be a good aspect for party people but not for those who have to wake up early).
The rooms smelt sweaty and you couldn't really get the smell out by opening the windows. This was not so nice...
Besides these two negative points I would like to emphasize that the staff was very friendly and also breakfast was fine, compared to what you would have paid in the city. Showers were always clean, which I also appreciated. | ||

| Good, but floor was not cleaned when I got in and the thrash from the thrashbin from the guys before me was never removed. So I guess there is no cleaning of the rooms. I had no problems with it I just tied op the thrash bag and left it. It was unclear to me if we had to empty it ourself or not. Further the toilet was somewhat a mess after a night, but thats more caused by the visitors i guess...

| Great if you want to go hiking in the mountains, not so good if you want to be close to the city center. About a 45-minute walk from downtown, though there is a bus. | ||

| An extremely friendly team here in Bergen. Like Bergen itself which has a very uniqie and own character, they too have developed a very friendly atmosphere. The stay here (twice within the recent 2 weeks) was much better than the one in Oslo. Breakfast is rich and there are multitude of choices. The team also asks you if you want to warm your drink (e.g. cacao). The view from the youth hostel is magnificent and spectacular as the youth hostel is situated on top of the hills which surround Bergen. I genuinely and wholeheartedly recoommend this particular & special youth hostel, since as a frequent visitor to youth hostels all over the world, I honestly feel that it is one of a kind. | ||

| Break fast was awesome. We enjoyed the food like anything. It is better not to have extra charge for bed linen and towel. | ||
