Customer Reviews Beijing - Far East International Youth Hostel

| The hostel is located in a hotel in a Hutong area which is very nice. The beds were comfy, and were located in a hotel-room type place, so it felt very secure. There was no internet in the whole place though, and the bathroom shower leaked water everywhere as the drain didn't function very well. Because of the leakage, there was water damage around the edges of the bathrooms area. | ||

| The staff wouldn't let me check in to the hostel because my passport was in the Indian embassy so I could get a visa。 I had a copy with a stamp and recipt and another government issued id, but they would not even try to help me。 I was left out the street! I know that I made a misstake, but this was incredible bad service! | ||

| The dehumidifier was right outside my room and every morning for four consecutive days I had a bloody nose. It was also extremely warm at night that I couldn't sleep. Hope that they would clean the restroom area a bit more and perhaps keep the dehumidifier in there instead. | ||

| It's a bit confusing, because this hostel is also a hotel, but it's in the same building, with the same facilities and the same reception. We booked a double room from this site, so we expected we booked the hostel and had the special discount-card to get extra discount by arrival. At the reception they told us we couldn't get any discount, because we booked the hotelroom, not the hostelroom. Weird, cause they didn't mention it at their site or somewhere else. And we stayed for 5 nights, so the discount should make a big difference for us. After some arguing, the hotelmanager suddenly could give us the discount. Good that they agreed with the discount, but why first the discussion and the weird 'rules'...
For the rest our stay was very comfortable. Nice room and especially the restaurant in the hotel was very nice. A really nice waitress and the food is also great! A lot of choice, cheap and tastes delicious! | ||

| Nice hotel. Well situated, in a nice street. Breakfast is good, but expensive. | ||

| A little noisy with cleaning staring up early in the mornings and sound traveling easily through thin walls and doors, but other than that great! | ||

| A dirty hostel in the basement of a hotel. The showers were disgusting, the place had little atmosphere and the room was dirty. Not recommended. | ||

| Not so much a hostel, but more of a 2 star hotel. Location was good however and the price was decent for the accommodations. | ||

| Don't appreciate having my girlfriend being suspected of being a prostitute when she arrived to visit me, simply because she is Chinese. | ||

| It is odd that they don't keep the toilet paper in the restroom. You have to get it from the room with the showers down the hall. | ||
