Customer Reviews Barcelona - InOut Youth Hostel

| Not mentioned in the description is that the hostel serves as an employment opportunity for those with disabilities to serve and maintain the premises. I think this a very positive aspect of the hostel, and should not be kept secret. It should be embraced by travelers worldwide. The only downsides I noted were that the TV is set to repeat endlessly music videos, and that they weren't open to changing the channel to permit guests to watch other things such as the news. And the internet connection was limited to one computer while I was there. Re: the hill controversy, the walk up the hill is not a big deal, in my opinion. I'm 65 and was carrying a very heavy backpack upon my arrival. Just take it one step at a time and allow less than 10 minutes to reach the hostel from the train stop. Once there and without your luggage, it's a minor hike. Plus the train runs frequently and so access to the city isn't an issue. The view from the hills is nice, as is the solitude. | ||

| Far away from Barcelona, but that's the point! It's a nice relaxing place away from the city, but only a short train ride away. | ||

| I really enjoyed this hostel! They have a pool which is very nice, and computers are everywhere. Speak decent or at least passable Spanish, as most of the staff has some difficulty in English. There was a bar that was open all night that sold beer for one euro which was nice. The hill to get to the hostel is TREACHEROUS. However, totally beautiful and worth the walk. A little far outside of the city, but the metro is about fifteen minutes away. If you want to stay out late, get a hostel in the city. But this was a lovely hostel. | ||

| This place is miles from Barcelona. It was full of very noisey kid's and felt a lot like we were at a summer camp. Food was very poor and quite expensive! | ||

| The location is not clearly mentioned and there is no transport (other than possibly an occasional taxi) up to the actual hostel. As a result you have to carry your belongings up quite a long road to get there. There did not appear to be any steps to walk up. The hostel was nice and the staff were very friendly :). | ||

| Great value for your money! The location was a bit convenient and they did not have a kitchen, but overall absolutely worth it. | ||

| This is by far the best hostel I have stayed in. The location is fantastic; you can be in the centre of Barcelona in 12 minutes on the train, yet the hostel is set in beautifully peaceful countryside. I particularly enjoyed breakfast on the terrace listening to the bird song. There are 6 trains into the city every hour during the day so it is very easy and also cheap, with a 10 journey ticket costing in the region of 9 euros. The hostel was clean and had a friendly atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. | ||
