Celebrations on the Auspicious Occation of His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary

• 5 December : In this day, which is observed as Father's Day, the Thai nation comes together to celebrate the most auspicious occasions of His Majesty King . Starting a few weeks before the King's birthday, houses and buildings are decorated with flags, lights and his portraits by individual people and organizations, especially in the avenue 'Ratchadamnoen Klang'. This Avenue, which is containing many administrative building, is festooned with colorful lights. This street ends to 'Sanam Luang', the area in front of 'Wat Phra Kaew'. In the middle of the avenue 'Ratchadamnoen Klang', many huge and beautiful portraits of the King are displayed.

Besides royal ceremonies, several activities in support of public charities are held to celebrate this important event.
