In summer the Karl May Festival is Bad Segeberg’s main attraction but in low season Kalkberg rock with its cave system inhabited by bats is still a fascinating site.

The youth hostel is located on the edge of town by Great Segeberg Lake next to swimming baths, crazy golf and boat rental. Indoor swimming pool and public sports facilities are just 10 min away. The Ihlsee recreational area offers bathing beach, fitness trail, playgrounds, barbecue areas, skittle alleys and pony-trekking.
