The youth hostel is in a quiet location close to a park in the Rhine meadows of Riehl. The path along the river bank is ideal for cycling and rollerblading. The direct underground to the city centre only takes 9 minutes.
Famous attractions: Cologne Cathedral, museums and art galleries (Roman-Germanic Museum, Museum Ludwig, Chocolate Museum, Sport & Olympia Museum etc.), Cologne Opera House, Philharmonic, Schauspielhaus (municipal theatre), Zoo (with Flora Botanic Garden & Aquarium), Mediapark with TV studios, Rheinauenpark, Deutz trade fair grounds, "Köln-Arena" concert hall, boat tours from Cologne city centre, football “Bundesliga” in Cologne and Leverkusen.
Cologne-Riehl youth hostel has a "Service Point" organizing complete leisure activity programmes for schools, groups, families and individuals.

| Location: | The youth hostel is located in the Riehl district, 100m behind the AXA building on the Rhine. The zoo is close-by. |

| Airport: | From Airport Cologne-Bonn there is a train to Cologne Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) every 15 min. From there take underground U18 (direction "Zoo/Flora") to "Boltensternstraße" stop. |

| It is a youth hostal so for those that care, considered that, but the place is fantastic, nice decoration, clean the room abd bathroom was big and location very closed to the station. I felt very good there. | ||

| i did not stay, because it turned out that i did not reserve a room for the price i pay in berlin for aroom, but a bec in a four bed room. this information was given in tiny letters on the reservation sheet. i thought it was outregeaus, and left. especially because a cheap bed andbreakfast is possible in koln, and i spent one and a half hour driving to find this place, going around in circles, spending a lot on petrol. only to find aplace where it was not safe to leave my luggage (more than a suitcase) in thecar. | ||

| friendly staff, good 4p rooms with shower and toilet
very good breakfast, one of the best at HI Hostels so far
public transport to the city is easy and fast by tram. Tickets for sale at the reception which makes it all easier
some fungi in the shower makes the cleanliness poor | ||

| Since no stores nearby, this hotel have a nice arrangement on food
(compared to other hotels). The breakfast is really valuable, and pizza in the bar looks also good! | ||
