Welcome to Horten and the new Horten Hostel, located next to the Borre Golf Course, with bus connections to the town center and the train station. It is also close to grocery stores, fitness center with a spa section and
shopping area. In the same building as us you'll find Vestfold Bowling center. In the vicinity there are great hiking areas especially by the Borrevannet-lake with its rich animal and bird life. Surrounding the golf course there is a walking trail with informative boards alongside that provide interesting facts about the nature and culture.
The town center with several shops, restaurants, a cinema and a bus terminal is only 1.8 kilometres away. Near the center is a guest harbour of high standard, restaurants and tourist office in addition to the ferry connection between Horten and Moss. Sandefjord Airport Torp is only 30 minutes away.
Horten can offer a diversity of culture and activities. During summertime there are loads of seaside swimming places and beaches. In the outskirts of the town center Karljohansvern is located, a place enveloped by the sea. This the place to enjoy life. A quiet place in an urban environment. Here you'll find great hiking areas with beautiful natural sceneries with big trees and green plains. Here you'll also find a Navy Museum, Preus Museum (national museum of photography) and the Centre of Local History. Karljohansvern is perfect for bike rides. If you hike towards Borre, you'll encounter Borre mound cemetery which forms part of Borre National Park which was the first national park of Norway and contains the biggest collection of viking burial mounds in Scandinavia which have provided rich findings from the past. The historical centre of Midgard lies right beside the park. We can also offer fishing, climbing, bike rental, guided tours, skatepark and much more.

Directions
| Bus: | From the town centre you can take bus number 01, 02 or 70 to VBK (01 direction Åsgårdstrand and Tønsberg; 02 direction Tønsberg, Tjøme & Hvasser; 70 direction Skoppum). |
| Parking: | Free parking on the premesis. |
| Sea port: | From the port you can take bus number 01 to VBK (direction Åsgårdstrand). Behind Sjøsiden shopping mall you can also take bus number 02 or 70 to VBK (02 direction Tønsberg, Tjøme & Hvasser; 70 direction Skoppum). |
| Location: | Horten Hostel is located next to Borre Golf Course, aprox 1,5 km south/west of the town centre. |
| Rail: | The nearest train station is Skoppum. From there you can take bus number 70 to Solli in Horten. On Saturdays this bus doesn't go often, and on Sundays it doesn't go at all. In that case take the train to Tønsberg or Holmestrand, and from there bus number 02 to Solli in Horten. |
| Airport: | (TRF)Take Airport Shuttle Bus to the train station. Take the train to Tønsberg or Skoppum. From Skoppum take bus number 70 to VBK in Horten or bus 01 or 02 from Tønsberg to Solli. Alternatively you can take Telemarksekspressen NorWay Bussekspress from the airport to Tønsberg. Arriving by car from the airport: Horten . Hostel is located next to Borre Golf Course, aprox 1,5 km south/vest from the town centre. Arrival at the hostel by car from E18 from the south: Follow signs towards Skoppum, Åsgårdstrand, Undrumsdal. Take to the right in the roundabout, first exit. Continue driving onto Knudstadveien (306) around 6 km. Take to the left in the roundabout, third exit (Holtandalen). Continue on Borreveien, drive aprox. 1.7 km and you will have us on your right side. |

| It supposed to be a 4 bedded dorm but the room was full of beds !!! (ten beds in room 004 where I was). I stayed 1 week and my towels were never changed. | ||
