Customer Reviews Havana - Hostel Colina

| This place isn't really a hostel. It's simply a hotel capitalizing on its HI connection. The only indication of the connection I saw were two small signs in not-so-obvious places. Rooms (no dorms) are very basic, the staff I interacted with spoke very limited English (I speak some Spanish myself so no prob.), there were none of the usual youth-friendly activities and vibe and the included breakfast was not nearly as good as the included one I got when i switched to a lower-priced "Casa particular" a few blocks away. HI should either develop the Colina as a real hostel or find another Havana location. | ||

| Hotel Colina did not honour the Hostelling International discount (10% for members + the pre-paid deposit). After multiple discussions with hotel staff/managers, I eventually had to accept the higher cost than I expected. If you're planning on staying here to save money, don't count on it! | ||

| I hated my stay in Hoostel Colina. First they refused to lodge me as I didn't have a print out of my reservation, even though I had it on my phone. When I asked if they had the reservation on the computer they said yes but they still bedded proof and then was insistent on a print out.
Next my reservation states $35 per night but they tried to charge me $42 per night and rip me off. I raised this and protested.
Finally when I checked out they had absolutely no record of the fact that I had paid on arrival and they wanted me to pay again. We argued and wasted 30 mins.
In short I had a really really lot experience and I will not reccomend anyone to stay here. | ||
