The hostel in Härnösand is situated in a charming and newly renovated 19th century building, which is culturally significant in some parts. The hostel was voted ‘Newcomer of the Year’ in 2007 and has bright rooms with high ceilings and large windows.
There are single, double and multiple-bed rooms, all with a showers and toilets close by. The oldest areas in Härnösand are just a stone’s throw away, and the hostel is next door to the only white-painted cathedral in Sweden. Härnösand is perfectly situated for excursions to the Höga Kusten (High Coast), the Västanåfallet river and Hemsö fortress. The fortress is Sweden’s most secretive tourist attraction: a top-secret underground fortress that is now open to the public. Don’t miss out on a swim at Smitingen, with its big sandy beach and child-friendly shallow waters.
