Customer Reviews Cherbourg/Octeville

| Very clean and friendly. Free internet. I was there in the offseason, therefore, not many people were sharing the hostel with me. But it had the accommodations to have a great time and Cherbourg is incredible. | ||

| The room is big and clean. Everything is very good! | ||

| Hostel was a mixed bag; there was only ome staff member for the whole place, though he was very friendly. The rooms are cozy, but the beds were a bit messy and I walked out the next morning with some kind of rash about my ankles from the sheets. Nevertheless, it was an okay place for a short stay. | ||

| The only disadvantage of this hostel is, that there are no toilets in the room or even on the same floor. Otherwise very enjoyable experience. | ||

| I shall certainly use Hi-hostels again. | ||

| Good price for France. A little towards the edge of town, but still within walking distance. Common areas are nice and the included breakfast is good. | ||

| Provided you speak French, you will be fine. Best to learn at least the basics or have a good phrasebook. Excellent value for money, breakfast is good, and the rooms are splendid. Very | ||

| Very friendly staff, room was a good size for four people and we had no trouble finding it. | ||

| the hostel reception was supposed to be open until 11pm as stated on the website. We arrived at 11pm and the place was completely closed down: lights off and no sign of anyone. We understand we should have been there a little earlier but we found the place hard to find. I would have thought the person should only have been closing the reception down at this point rather than it being already closed. Thankfully we were stranded and waited around for about 10mins to think what to do next and the receptionist appeared outside for a cigarrette. AFter much unhappy debate she eventually let us stay and became a little more friendly. This was not a good experience. The other staff in the morning was very friendly and helpful although didn't speak english, but seemed to understand it a little. | ||

| The beds, pillows and linen were not ideal for sleeping and the room overheats during the night. The breakfast is ok considering the bread was fresh. I did like that there was cooking facilities. | ||
