Borkum is the western most and largest of the East Friesian Islands. The youth hostel is situated within the 50 acres ground of a former Navy school between ferry terminal, tidal mudflats and the port of refuge in the south of the island. The bus trip into town takes about 15 minutes, a cycle ride 30 minutes.

The youth hostel is about 500 m from the ferry terminal. Emden (1 km from ferry)
