Set on an island in the River Charente, the hostel makes a good base for nice strolls along the river (by foot, bike, canoe or rowing). It is also close to the city center and the Old town, with its maze of ancient streets, its painted walls tour and its heritage (the city is an art and history heritage site). Angoulème is also the centre of French comic-strip production and hosts numerous festivals like the Comic-strip festival and Musiques métisses, Ludoland, the fortifications tour and the La tête dans les nuages (Head in the clouds) festival for children.
