| Location: | Location and environment: Cervera is the largest municipality in the province, 325 square km. A former commercial centre and route to the current Cantabria. Located in the north centre of Palencia province, where the Rivers Pisuerga and Rivera meet. About 100 km from the cities of Palencia, Burgos, León and Santander. The municipality consists of 24 villages with Cervera as the capital and about 3,000 inhabitants. Villages: Cervera, Arbejal, Rabanal de los Caballeros, Valsadornín, Gramedo, Vañes, Estalaya, Verdeña, Celada de Roblecedo, San Felices de Castillería, Herreruela de Castillería, Ruesga, Ventanilla, Resoba, San Martín de los Herreros, Rebanal de las Llantas, Santibáñez de Resoba, Ligüerzana, Quintanaluengos, Barcenilla de Pisuerga, Rueda de Pisuerga, Vallespinoso de Cervera, Cubillo de Ojeda y Perazancas. Located in a mountain area, at an altitude of between 1000 and 1200 mts , with a humid and cool climate in summer and cold in winter. The main feature to define the municipality area of Cervera de Pisuerga is its mountainous character. It is located in the north of Palencia province, about 100 km from the province capital, in the central area of the "Palencian Mountain". It is part of the southern slope of the Cantabria Mountain Range, representing the highest area after Picos de Europa. Access by public transport: How to get to Cervera: about 25 km from Aguilar de Campoó on the P-212 Road, about 35 km from Guardo on the C-626, about 55 km from Saldaña on the C-624, about 40 km from Herrera de Pisuerga on the C-627. Nearest Bus Station: Cervera de Pisuerga. Nearest Train Station: Aguilar de Campoo. Road route from the capital: Palencia - Saldaña Road. Get off on the 627 Road (on the right) to Cervera de Pisuerga. Towards the north on the local road to the hostel. Distance from Palencia: 124 km. |
