You're in the northern region of France, with carefully aligned red bricks!
Located in old barracks, the hostel offers 88 rooms for 1 to 4 persons, on 4 floors, a reception area with common room and coffee machines, many meeting rooms and a seminar room. The building is modern, with a fully renovated 3rd floor.
The hostel enables you to open to new horizons. Jules Verne's work in the Maison à la Tour where he lived from 1882 to 1900, will take you to a true cultural and historical journey.
After exploring Notre-Dame Cathedral, a Gothic UNESCO listed building, take time to discover by foot, on a punt, or on a carriage, the St Leu neighbourhood. You'll be charmed by the small streets, the narrow colourful houses, some of which host galleries, bookstores, shops and antiques. At night, you'll love its hip bars. On Saturday mornings, you can bask in the mosaic of colours of its water market...
Amiens is located in the Somme region, sadly famous for its WW1 battles. There are thus many memorials, among which:
24 km: National Australian Memorial, in Villers-Bretonneux, where the German offensive was definitely stopped. This impressive memorial, behind a huge cemetery, is a tribute to the Australian soldiers who lost their lives during WW1.
40 km: the Ulster Tower (an Irish monument) and the French & British monument, both located in Thiepval.
46 km: Terra Nova memorial located in Beaumont-Hamel.
62 km: a museum about WW1's history, located in Peronne.
And last but not least, Amiens is the perfect stop before the Somme Bay, which is said to be "one of the most beautiful bays in the world" thanks to its vast natural area where you can watch more than 300 migrating bird species, as well as a seal colony.

Customer Reviews Amiens

| Very comfortable place to stay apart from being able to hear everything going on around you such as people walking around, showering or flushing the toilet. It is a long walk from anything Amiens (Cathederal, shops, train etc) but if you don't mind the walk and need a decent cheap place to stay then this is the place!! | ||

| Hard to find! It would helpful to have signage on the street indicating location of hostel. Also a sign mounted on the outside of the hostel facing the street would be wise. | ||

| We arrived late and the security desk was manned by a very friendly and helpful man who went out of his way to help us even though he spoke no English and we spoke very little French. I would have liked to have stayed a little longer but we were travelling on a tight schedule. Hostel itself was excellent and superior to the following one we stayed at in Paris, Clichy. | ||

| Ok, but no real kitchen facilities to cook your own. So expect to eat out, or just have the basics. | ||
