| No locks on doors, unfinished rooms. The showers were very dirty. It did have good tours available and a nice woman from argentina who was a staff member. The oter woman who greeted us was extremely unhelpful and unfriendly. Not a secure establishment with people going in and out who did not belong to the hostel. | ||

| I stayed in a private double room adjoining the courtyard. They provide a lock to these rooms. While the rooms, facilities, and location were ok, I didn't get any sleep because of noise. People stay up until 1am talking loudly, drinking, and smoking. While the walls are solid and thick, the door and window is like a fence, so you can hear everything from the courtyard. Even the gravel in the courtyard causes noise when someone is walking on it. The noise may not seem bad, but in a place where the tours start at 4am or 7am, not being able to sleep until 1 was terrible. There is a hostel "rule" that says you can't be in the courtyard after midnight, but the staff does not enforce the rule, so it is up to patrons to beg the people to leave. Some were understanding, others were inconsiderate. Also for less than the price of a private room here, you can get a room with shared bathroom somewhere else nearby, and that's what we ended up doing. I would not stay here again. | ||

| We booked this hostel as we were arriving in San Pedro at 11pm, they had no record of our booking even though we booked online and paid a deposit! When we tried to get our deposit back, they made us come back the next day and acted like we were being a nuisance. Also the staff spoke NO english. Would not recommend as they left us stranded at 11pm at night. | ||

| There is no security at this hostel, you don't even get a key to your dorm because there are no locks. I wasn't feeling well one day so went to lay down in my dorm for a while and when i entered the room there was maintanence man sitting on my bed smoking a cigarette! He then spent a few hours painting the walls & smoking in the room as i tried to sleep so obviously it was not very comfortable. There was then paint specks all over our bags and the beds. My wife had a bottom bunk bed & the frame of the top bed was starting to collapse and was just being held by nails, so she ended up sleeping in my single bed with me for fear that it would cave in on her during the night. Also there is no hot water. Do yourself a favour & stay somewhere else. | ||

| No hot water 4 of 5 days even though staff informed and we were ensured it would be fixed. Kitchen inadequate for guest numbers, not enough pots, pans, plates, cups etc. Breakfast stingy, one bread roll and one cup of coffee and had to ask for butter, jam etc, as it has always run out, no cold drink provided. Staff unhelpful and noisy, music played loudly until midnight for the benefit of the staff not the residents and in the morning banging around and yelling to each other from 6am. We would have left if we had had time to look for a different hostel but we were out on full day excursions (8am to 8pm). | ||
