Our Mission: To help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding of the world and its people through hostelling.
Hostelling International is the world’s largest and most respected network of hostels. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cultural understanding through travel.
Our rates are listed per night for Hostelling International members. For non-members, there is a $3 daily membership fee.
HI-Austin will charge your credit card for the first night's stay, minus your booking deposit, automatically. Please inform the hostel of any cancellations by 5 pm the day before you are scheduled to arrive in order to receive a refund.
As part of our high quality standards, a government-issued photo ID (such as a passport or drivers license) must be presented upon check-in.
HI-AUSTIN IS OBLIGATED TO CHARGE A 15% LODGING TAX ON ALL OVERNIGHT STAYS IN ACCORDANCE WITH TEXAS STATE LAW.
Please note that your quoted amount due upon arrival may be less than the actual amount due to taxes and daily membership fees.
$19 + $3 membership fee + 15% lodging tax = $24.85 for non HI members.
Please be advised that there is a $3 extra daily charge during special events such as South by Southwest and Austin City Limits.

| Bus: | By bus: Walk across the parking lot to the corner bus stop and take bus #7 southbound to Burton and East Riverside Drive. Walk down the hill along Tinnin Ford Road. The road will end at South Lakeshore Boulevard and we are across the street to the right. Taxis are available at the station as well - fare should be around $20. |

| Location: | 3km-Southern shore of Town Lake, East or Interstate 35, off Riverside Drive. |
| Rail: | By bus: Walk 1 block north to 5th Street and take the Silver Dillo eastbound to Congress and 5th Street. Transfer to either bus #7 or #20 southbound, exiting at Burton and East Riverside Drive. Walk down the hill along Tinnin Ford Road. The road will end at South Lakeshore Boulevard and we are across the street to the right. Taxis are available at the station as well - fare should be about $10. |
| Airport: | By car: 15 Minute drive. Take Highway 71 west towards Austin. Merge onto Interstate 35 North and exit @ Riverside Drive (Exit # 233). Head east on Riverside Drive and turn left at the 7/11 onto South Lakeshore Boulevard. We are located about 400 meters down the street on the left. By bus: Take bus #350 to ACC (Austin Community College) and transfer to bus #20. Get off at Burton and East Riverside Drive. Walk down the hill along Tinnin Ford Road. The road will end at South Lakeshore Boulevard and we are across the street to the right. Taxis are available at the airport as well - fare should be about $20. |
