| Arrived at 1pm soaking wet, and although reception not open until 5, was welcomed and allowed to shower, use the kitchen and get into a room to change and unpack my wet luggage. Enjoyed the evening meal and the variety of books in the dining room. The drying room did a terrific job of the burden imposed on it. Staff were very helpful in suggesting alternative routes to my next destination in view of the bad weather.
My only quibble is that when I booked the only option given to me was sole use of a 2-bedded room for £50. I would have preferred to share and pay less but, despite emailing to suggest the hostel could use the bed for someone else, they didn't - but it turned out OK as the room was quite small and I could spread out and dry stuff better.
Would like to visit again, to explore the area in slightly better weather! | ||
