Hostal Fátima is located in La Candelaria Neighbourhood, in the historic center of the city, very near Chorro de Quevedo, a square that is an icon in the history of Bogotá and the capital culture. It is said that is was there where the city was founded when the Spanish Conqueror Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada built 12 huts and a small chapel. Hostal Fátima is surrounded by the oldest streets and houses in the city and by some of the most representatitve symbols such as Plaza de Bolívar, La Casa de Nariño, Gold Museum, La Casa del Florero, Military Museum, Luis Ángel Arango Library, La casa de La Moneda, Camarín del Carmen, Santa Clara Church and Colombia´s Cathedral.
The La Calendaria area is also a university space that has a wide variety of restaurants, theatres, bars, cafés, to meet every taste.
Hostal Fátima is a multi-cultural meeting point, a house with more than 150 years, with a beautiful colonial architecture, where you will find out how the 19th century families used to live, everything adapted to a contemporary atmosphere, wooden floors, glass stained windows, a solarium with satelite TV and many services more to make your stay in Hostal Fátima cosy and unforgettable.

| We got a room above the kitchen.
It was like sleeping in a frying pan!
No towels no hot water.
One of the worst hostels I've been at. | ||

| The hostel is somewhat noisy as the floors are wooden and all rooms facde the courtyard where a lot of activity occurs. | ||

| Kitchen facilities were limited for a HI-Hostel. Smoking in the covered courtyards meant there were few smoke free spaces to sit or eat in as a non-smoker. We had been told to only smoke in the garden so it was a shame that no other guests seemed to bother with the rules. Great location, helpful and enthusiastic staff and plenty of activities makes it a good place to stay especially if you want to party. | ||

| Rocks for beds, barely there hot water for showers, and a very modest breakfast. | ||

| The hostel is very nice and has free wifi and computers to use. Lots and lots of places to sit and relax. Hammocks are in the enclosed and covered courtyard with tables to eat at. The only things to note are what others have said in their comments...the way the building is built it you can hear every sound at night -- people walking down the hall sounds like someone playing the drums. You can hear every word people say in the courtyard from a far distance. So getting to sleep or staying asleep in the morning can be difficult. Also the shower is hot only if you use a very small amount of water. Other than that the hostel is great.Lovely new little kitten as of May 2012! Note: You need Colombian Pesos and not US Dollars in Columbia. Change your money at the airport. | ||
