| The hostel was not open ( renovation not complete) for our registered date but we were able to find other accommodation in Ambleside. | ||

| Standing beside Lake Windermere, the view is awesome just outside your room window.
Staff are all friendly, and there are lots of backpackers, families to chat or play with.
It's a really nice place to stay when visiting the lake district.

| The interior of the building looked neglected. The bathrooms and toilets did not feel clean. All 3 of us woke up in the morning with back aches and feeling very tired, therefore the beds were definitely not comfortable. Based on this experience we were tempted to book into a hotel for the next night of our journey. | ||

| Of all the hostels we stayed in on our two month trip, Ambleside was the most disappointing. I was aware of the building's future refurbishment, but the staff were less than welcoming and the facility was in a shabby and unkept state. Its location on the edge of the Lake was excellent but staff weren't proactive as I had witnessed in other parts of the U.K. | ||

| The hostel itself was well presented. Although the kitchen lacked equipment such as enough sharp knives and tea spoons.
It was just unfortunate that there was a very large and loud school party in over the weekend- perhaps you could warn people as they booked?!

| This is a large and noisy hostel and individual travellers can feel a little swamped by the big groups. However, you cannot beat the location and the view is to die for. | ||
