| We have stayed in several HI-hostels during our vacation. Why do we only receive two comment cards of Aix-les Bains? We were in Nancy, Allessandria and Marina-di-Massa too. | ||

| Wed morning I awoke late (after 0700) and had to take a taxi to my event because the desk clerk told my friends, when they came by for me, that I'd already left, when I was still in bed. I'd tried several times to get the desk clerk to give my Hosteling member card back and was refused. It was after 2300 Wendsday when I got back from my events and I had to depart at 0600 Thursday(as I'd told the clerk) so my membership card was not returned. No key drop box available, put key under shutter for desk. | ||

| This was the WORST hostel that we stayed in for our trip! Thank God it was only 2 nights. When we arrived the front desk was closed even though they were supposed to be open. A girl who was supposed to be off came to let us in because the boss was sleeping and didn't want to work. We were given our rooms which were fine. Every moment we were there we felt like intruders in a home, they did not make us feel welcome at all. We were the only guests in the hostel my family of four. The owner entertained friends while we were there and not once did he offer any type of hospitality to us which we found very rude. At one point (since there were no vending machines) my father asked the owner if he could buy some soda from behind the counter which was supposed to be open and the owner said simply no it's closed now! Just an awful experience I would never stay here again and would advise anyone else to stay somewhere else. | ||

| I arrived around 1pm to find the hostel reception closed from 10 - 16h, which seemed a little excessive and was quite inconvenient! Luckily one of the chefs from the kitchen showed me where I could leave my bags, and she tried to get hold of the manager to assist another larger group who had arrived at the same time.
When reception did open, they were very friendly and helpful. I was lucky to have a room to myself and it was quiet and very clean.
The location is a bit far from the centre of town, a 10 minute bus ride. However, there are restaurants close by at the port so you don't have to head all the way back into town in the evening. | ||
