Hostel Zürich is in a quiet, residential area near Lake Zurich and 15 minutes by tram to the city centre, with its charming old streets and wealth of museums. The "Rote Fabrik" cultural centre in Wollishofen, offering avant-garde concerts, theatre and discos, is within walking distance.There is capacity for 281 guests and facilities include TV. Dorms are usually not mixed.

The Zurich Youth Hostel and the Swiss Youth Hostels Association received the special 2008 award "for a thoughtful and successful conversion of a 1960s building and an outstanding business philosophy in the area of social tourism".

| The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It almost felt like a nice hotel rather than a young-person's place. I love that there is free wifi and that there aren't terribly annoying barriers to using it (unlike many hostels I've stayed at.) Place was clean and well-organized. Good job! | ||

| I am an Australian but I feel the Hostels in the U.S. offer a friendlier atmosphere than Europe. Also many of the U.S. hostel havea different atmosphere like staying in an old jail, or a monestary or a an old house. The meals in the European hostels are too expensive for what is offered compared to Australian prices. | ||

| The bathrooms were clean, but still smelled unpleasantly. I like that there is a door between the lockers and the beds. However, it's not a solution for snoring roommates. :D | ||

| Thank you for such friendly and attentive girls at the counter. They helped me out a lot with my parking situation where there was usually another car parked in my assigned spot. The rooms were really clean and so were the showers and toilets! I really wish I could have had the breakfast and serving time at 6AM is reasonable, but I had to be at the airport at 6AM so I could not try it. I am sure it would be wonderful though. The bar and gift items for sale are really great to have in the hostel! I also enjoyed the fast WiFi and large lounge/table areas. I would definitely stay here again! | ||
