Osar is located on the Vatnsnes Peninsula, 25 km north of road no. 1. Over the last three years the hostel has been completely renovated. An unusually beautiful sunset gives the Hostel its name. Ósar ocean beach is full of life. Seals abound and also eider ducks and other birds, and the rock Hvítserkur, which resembles a prehistoric Dinosaur, is within walking distance from the Hostel. The unspoiled nature, peaceful environment and a variety of recreation opportunities makes Ósar an ideal stop in an Iceland tour. In only about 5 min walk you are in unusually close contact with nature. Here guests can see a number of different birds and one of Iceland´s biggest colonies of seals , swimming only a few meters from the beach. Next Hostels: Sæberg, 60 km - Akureyri, 250 km.

| Very friendly staff and very nice location!
In the highseason the guesthouse will be very crowded and because of the wooden structure you'll hear really all sounds, so could be not that pretty to sleep.

| Truly the best hostel I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. We had one of the little cottages at the road, but the main house also looked very cosy and nice. And the breakfast in that Mongolian jurta was definitely a highlight. | ||

| It was a bit chilly but I guess that's totally normal for Oban being so far up north. The heaters helped out quite well. Overall, a really nice and pleasant stay. The staff was an additional plus. Thanks for everything! | ||

| Really a great place to stay. Beautifull surrounding and very friendly staff. The atmosphere in the hostel was very good and it's located in a renovated farm house, which is really nice. | ||
