undergronud in the heart of vast forest within the fresh basin of still pure air and its kind people.
You will leave richer, knowing it was worth experiencing this country and its people.
You will be thankfull to yourself for the decision to take a walk or drive round the diverse landscape of rich forests, wide plains meadows plateaus, and hills. Here you have the
opportunity to take a really deep breath. There are many roads in the area and everyone will find one at his convinience. If you climb Nanos you will be presented by the view of the entire country, from Triglav to the sea. You can as well decide to go along (school) forest path and listen to the life in forest ecosystem. A very special way of getting in touch with nature is entering the underground world, only rarely visited by a man (sport caving).
Come to us; The city of Postojna and the Proteus youth hostel are expecting you. For a reasonable price you can hire a single and double room or bed in 3-bedded dorm. The youth hostel Proteus is situated in the hundred year old park in the center of Postojna, not far away from the entrance to the Postojna cave. Close by there are also tennis, basketball and volleyball courts and foodball field. Children will enjoy visiting the neat playground in the sport park Therefor: Become our guests - you`ll be charmed

| Staff was friendly but only one person at the reception, who was sometimes not there. The bathroom is shared but very clean and all new. Handwash or dustbin in the rooms, private or shared fridge would have been nice. The park around is beautiful and has enough parking place for cars. Compared to Slovenian accomodation prices, very good value. | ||

| Typical hostel, without anything superfluous in rooms, hosted into a school. Clean, friendly staff, but not easy to find from the main road (you should take the road that enter into the town in front of big hotel Kras, and turn left; then, is well signalled). Good free parkings. | ||

| Fantastic option for seeing the caves without paying big bucks for just a room in one of the giant hotels in the area. Facilities are super simple but exactly what you need as a traveler. It's a little hard to find off the main road in Postojna - they need a beter sign - but absolutely worth the search. | ||
