Perched atop a cliff on the central California coast, the 115-foot Pigeon Point Lighthouse sits next to the keeper's houses restored as a hostel by HI-USA. From the boardwalk behind the Fog Signal Building watch gray whales on their migration. Walk throught the tide pool area, or through the 1,000-year old redwoods nearby. Explore Pescadero Marsh and Ano Nuevo State Reserve. On California Hwy One, 20 miles south of Half Moon Bay and 27 miles north of Santa Cruz.
Hot Tub rental is for overnight guests only. Sign up is at check-in only. 2 person minimum. No solo bathers allowed. 4 people maxim. $7.00 per person per half hour. 6:00 PM - 10:05 PM every night. Towel rental is .50 cents. Food for sale at front desk. Filtered water in kitchen faucet. Lockers available and pad locks for sale. Heaters in every house. Certified Bay Area Green Business.

Bus:
Warning: No public transportation available all the way to Pigeon Point. Closest stop to the south is from Santa Cruz to Waddell Beach = 10 miles south of Pigeon Point. Take Metro Route 40. Walk or bicycle 10 miles north. Nearest bus stop north of PPLH is at Pescadero, 5 miles to north. Sam Trans Route 15 from Half Moon Bay. NO WEEKEND SERVICE! Samcoast is a specially arranged bus that brings you from Pescadero or Half Moon Bay (same price, $ 3.00, flexible times) to the Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel and as far south as Waddell beach (enabling you to take a #40 bus the rest of the way into Santa Cruz). You can also take this service from the
Lighthouse back to Pescadero/Half Moon Bay to catch the bus to all points north and east.
You must call at least 48 hours in advance to arrange this Samcoast bus. There is a bus twice daily (weekdays) from Half Moon Bay to Pescadero. For more info call

Metro:
B.A.R.T (Bay Area Rapid Transit) nearest stop is city of Colma. Colma is 44 miles away from Pigeon Point. Take Sam Trans Bus Route 391 south to San Mateo City. Take Sam Trans Bus Route 294 to Half Moon Bay City at Kelley Ave. Take Sam Trans Bus Route 15 on weekdays only to Pescadero. Walk 5 miles to PPLH.
Parking:
Parking area is just outside of Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel. Extra parking is alongside Pigeon Point Road in very close proximity to Hostel. No Parking Fee as of now.
Sea port:
San Fransico Port is 55 miles north of Pigeon Point Hostel. Drive South on Hwy One 20 miles to Pigeon Point Rd. Go West .02 miles to Hostel. Princeton Harbor north of Half Moon Bay: Drive South on Hwy 1 25 miles to Pigeon Point. Santa Cruz Harbor is 33 miles south. Take Hwy 1 north to Pigeon Point.

Take CalTrans Rail from San Francisco or San Jose to San Mateo Station. Take Bus to Pescadero. No weekend service.
Airport:
From San Fransisco International Airport take Hwy 380 West to Hwy 280 South to Hwy 92 West to Half Moon Bay City. Go South 20 miles on Hwy 1 to Pigeon Point Road. Go West .02 miles to 210 Pigeon Point Road. From San Jose Airport go South on Hwy 880 into Hwy 17 to Santa Cruz. Go North on Hwy 1 to Pigeon Point
