As soon as you get there, you'll realize this won't be your last visit to the city. There's just too much to see. Since you're staying at the Porto Hostel, we will be honoured to serve you breakfast with a panoramic view of the Douro estuary and after the grub, check out the town. Take in the different styles of local architecture, zigzag across the bridges, taste the Port wine in one of the many cellars, mix with the people in Bolhão marketplace, count the number of steps as you climb to the top of Clérigos' Tower and take a souvenir photo in Avenida dos Aliados. If you're a football freak, then FC Porto and Boavista stadiums are waiting to hear you scream wildly. Casa da Música, Serralves, Rosa Mota pavillion and the coliseum should have several events scheduled to suit your taste. At night, the Ribeira and the many discos in town are a clear synonym for fun unlimited. All this and much more. Porto is a cool town.

A real deception... Not at all the "spirit hi hostel" as we like... no conviviality and far from the center of the city...

Staff is helpful and the place is clean. The view of the water is great, but the location is not in the city. We had a car so it wasn't a problem, but it may be a hassle for those without a car. There was a windy morning and the glass balcony door kept making a banging noise. Wireless is available for a small fee but does not reach the rooms, which makes it rather annoying / semi useless.

I really enjoyed this hostel and I would definitely stay here again. The staff wasn't exactly the friendliest but they did their job I guess. A lot of the time I felt like I was bothering them when I had a question or needed my key, but overall it was good: I've definitely seen worse. The rooms were clean and it was definitely secure: one of the most secure hostels I've been in.

I should note that I stayed in a double room. It was very clean with an ocean view! I heard that the dorm rooms are cramped with steel bars on the windows ("like a dungeon"). The staff is excellent.
