The hostel is located in the heart of the old town centre. Some monumental edifices surge in the vicinity among which the baroque churches of St. Anthony Abate and St. Rosalia, the Cathalan Gothic ones of St. Sepulchre and St. Eulalia and that of St. Augustine which constitute some of the rare examples of Renaissance architecture of the Island . Next to the grey granite flight of steps leaning against the facade of the hostel, there are numerous old inns, family restaurants where the aroma of traditional dishes mingle with that of the sea. Breakfast was included. I left early in the morning and had been promissed a bag with some breakfast. When that morning came, no bag no breakfast. They said taht they forgot me!? Bad, very bad. Keep your promiss!!!! Or give some money back, som that one can by ones own breakfast. Hostel response: Dear Nina, we really apologise for the inconvenient ... usually when a customer asks for breakfast in the evening before the departure, the staff from the bar give directly the packed-breakfast. We are really sorry they didn't prepare it for you and we already asked them not to make it happen again and to hold promises!!! The breakfast is in fact included in the price and we can not split it! Hope to see you back in Cagliari Hostel again. Marina Hostel Staff

Central location, roomy dormitory, internet availability and breakfast provision were all a highlight. Would be nice to have smoking banned in the courtyard area, as this was the only WiFi area.

Our flights were cancelled due to a strike in Italy. I emailed the hostel to cancel our booking but my email was rejected as your server had been administratively disabled. I do not expect to have my deposit refunded, but I would have appreciated an acknowledgement of my email attempt to cancel the booking Hostel response: Dear Nigel, We are very sorry that you couldn’t take your flight because of the strike. We did receive your mail and we canceled your reservation without charging you . The hostel had a great location in the center of the city, staff was very nice and friendly and the rooms were huge. It would have been nice to have a guest kitchen but eating out was not so expensive so it was ok.

This is one of the nicest hostels we stayed in - and we stayed in A LOT of them. The only thing is the price..Yes - you get a great clean room in a good location, but 22 euros is pretty expensive for a hostel. Hostel response: Dear Diane, thank you very much for your report, we appreciated very much and we are happy that you enjoyed your stay. Regarding the price don't forget what the 22 euro include: accommodation in max 6 beds/room, private bathroom inside the room, wonderful breakfast, WiFi, 24 hours service, sheet and towels and obviously the super central position of the hostel host inside a really ancient palace!! not to mention the staff :)

As often in the south of Europe, walls and doors are not made to protect you from the noise of other guests not respecting the common 'silence rule' at night. So don't forget to bring your ear plugs with you if you need a good night's rest after a long day of activities!
