Due Torri-San Sisto hostel is located 6 km north-east of this unique city - and not only for its spectacular high leaning towers and its 47 kilometers of porticoes (the longest in the world). This is the city where the Alma Mater, the first university in the world (1088), broke through the cultural darkness of the Middle Ages and left an artistic imprint and a legacy of cultural figures for all time. The two hostels here, both modern and functional, constitute an optimal base for discovering the city's cultural and artistic richness.

Bologna is also an excellent base for visiting other Italian art cities such as Florence, Venice, Verona, Padua, Mantua, Ferrara, Modena, Parma, Ravenna.

The hostel is a welcoming place in particular for young people, families, school trips and sport organizations. You will be welcomed by our staff that fluently speaks English, French and Spanish.

We offer our guests: free WiFi service, fridge, fax service, tourist brochures, laundry, parking, pizza free delivery service, luggage room, various games such as Jenga, Chess, cards, book-swapping, machines with hot and cold drinks, postal service. Bus tickets are sold in reception. Basketball playground. Shopping center in the surroundings. POSSIBILTY OF CHAUFFEUR SERVICE 24/7. USING SLEEPING BAG IS FORBIDDEN.

According to the City Council resolution n. 174/2012 of 05/21/2012, from September 1st, 2012 the City of Bologna will introduce the city tax, applied to non-residents overnight staying, for a maximum of 5 consecutive nights. The tourism tax rate is Euro 0,50 per night per person. Under 14 are tax exempt.

The wifi connection in the hostel is quite quite poor. They say they're in the process of changing their internet provider so they receive less broadband from the old one... It doesn't sound like a good excuse.

It's okay for a hostel. Hot shower, clean bedrooms, friendly staff. Drab modern building. Breakfast not something to write home about. Main fault would be distance from centre: 6 kms. Buses run regularly until 8, then one every hour until 11.40 pm and that's the last one. Taxi would cost around €21.

I would stay again at this hostel. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. It would be helpful if there could be at least one more type of bread.

The breakfast wasn't very good, we got a different room that we were told and the location is just awful. Also, the buses that go there do not run evenly through the week.

Very thin pillows, very uncomfortable. Everything else is ok, considering the cheap price.

Staff were friendly in almost all circumstances, but at one point we were kept out of the building for several hours without warning due to cleaning. I wanted to store my computer so I could catch the bus but could not even enter the building. Staying out of rooms was expected but being locked out of the building completely was very inconvenient and I missed one of few buses to the city center on Sunday.

this hostel is situated very far from the city center of Bologna, the indications about the bus were not quite right on the website of the hostel (the nearest stop of the 93 bus from the train station is Piazza dei Martiri and not what was announced by the hostel - some approximate stop) - so I had a lot of difficulties to get there. Internet (wi-fi) was not working - which is quite surprising for the students' city. Breakfast was very poor: plain bread with jam/butter/cheap chocolate+coffee from the old machine... I will never stay there again!

Please contact me by email about this. We definitely did not stay here on this night. We are not even in the country. My email is nicolettelr@yahoo.com.au. Can you please confirm who you had staying using our email on the 20th September 2012. Thank you Nicolette Beazley

The outdoor patio is a great place to sit around drinking beers, eating pizza, and meeting new people from all over the globe. Although it is located several km out of town, the local buses take you directly from the city center to the hostel (note that on Sundays the buses only run once every 2 hours or so). But even late at night there is a night bus you can take. For budget travelers like myself who don't mind relying on public transport, the benefits of a cheap, clean, and friendly hostel outweigh the inconvenience of a bus trip to the outskirts of town.
