The Ring of Kerry Youth Hostel is an impressive 17th Century mansion, set in 75 acres of lawns and forests, overlooking the Lakes of Killarney and the Macguillycuddy's Reeks. If you want good food, a good night's sleep, washing and drying facilities and a great atmosphere, then Killarney International Youth Hostel is the place to be. The Killarney Hostel was renovated in two phases, early 1999 and early 2000 to include smaller rooms and family rooms, a very large self catering and catering area and very comfortable common areas. This hostel is the centre for exploring the impressive scenery that is the Ring of Kerry. The 'Ring of Kerry Tour', and the 'Gap of Dunloe Tour' depart daily from the Killarney Youth Hostel and show the visitor some of the most impressive scenery in the world.
Driving directions from Killarney to The International Youth Hostel, Ring of Kerry Rd, Fossa, Killarney, Co Kerry •Head onto the Killorglin Rd from Killarney •Follow this road until you see the Golden Nugget Pub(large orange pub) in Fossa Village (5km)and take the right turn at this pub onto thr Dingle road. •The Killarney Youth Hostel is about 200 metres up this road on the left hand side. There is a long driveway up to the hostel so continue driving until you come to the car park and building.

| The hostel is situated in a beautiful, well-moderised old mansion. Dorms and common rooms are very comfortable. The house is located in a picturesque setting in the green a short distance outside the city of Killarney (I only checked "good" for location, because without the car we had at our disposition during our stay I wonder how fast it would have been to get to the city and back). Staff is perfectly friendly and helpful. My friend and me very much enjoyed our stay there! | ||
