Guangzhou Riverside International Youth Hostel is by the riverside of Pearl River and is on the opposite side of the former foreign quarters which is well preserved as it was where you can find a strong colonial sentiment.
Along the riverside, there are pubs and bars, restaurants, cafè and cultural and art area transformed from old factories. Front end of the hostel is facing the river with a view of well-known White Swan Hotel in a distance, amid in line of trees which adds colour to scenery. This is a place where past and presence meet whereby tranquillity and activities interchange.
Youth Hostel offer dormitories, twins, single, riverside en-suite, family rooms etc. Cafè, internet, conference room, self-catering kitchen, laundry, left luggage and travel services are available.

| I did not used the reservation for this hostel.
It is such a pity that there is only one hihostel in Guangzhou, unlike other cities in China of similar size, where there are more.

| The location was very good and accessable to the subway and other transportation. The subway was a short and pleasurable walk of about 10 minutes. The river walkway was right in front of the hostel. No elevator in one section. So if you need one, ask for that section of the complex. | ||

| I stay in GD Guangzhou - Riverside International YH about one week, It's quite a good place. But if you plan to visit, you need to prepare some mosquito repallent. If you try to have sea food, be careful health problems. | ||

| Had booked a single room with balcony and loved this place and never expected it to be so good since booked it as i was not getting good hotels during canton fair days. But all i can say is ...will always stay here on my visit even if i get a good star rated hotel at the same price. loved the helping and friendly staff. two suggestion to the staff, do put more of anti mosquito coils in the lobby at night time and it would be wonderful if separate lockers are installed. otherwise PERFECT from my pont of view. THE PERFECT PLACE TO STAY IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING ALONE. | ||

| The Wifi works but slowly. They have 2 computers for rent, but they don't work - I think too many folks kept changing preferences to suit their needs and never bothered to revert back to the original configuration. Bring your own laptop for the wifi - you WILL be sorry of you don't.
